Privacy Policy for Sound Level Meter
About this policy
Sound Level Meter is provided by Aktyva konsaltynh technologies. This policy describes how the current Android app accesses, processes, stores, and exports information. For privacy questions or deletion inquiries, contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com.
Microphone access and use
The app requests microphone permission when you start monitoring. It processes microphone samples on your device to calculate estimated sound levels, display a live waveform, and indicate clipping. Audio files are not saved, and the app does not transmit microphone samples to the developer.
Monitoring operates while the app is in the foreground and stops when the app leaves the foreground. You can stop the microphone using the app’s controls or revoke microphone permission in Android settings. Pausing a measurement session pauses the addition of measurements to that session; microphone monitoring can remain active until you stop it.
Information stored on your device
The app stores measurement sessions and preferences in its private Android app storage. Session information includes environment labels you enter, session identifiers based on time, timestamps, estimated decibel readings, calibration offsets, and indicators of interruptions or gaps. These measurements support charts, duration calculations, statistics, and session comparisons.
An ongoing measurement session is saved locally as a draft so that measurements can be recovered after an interruption or restart. The app also stores your calibration offset, measurement interval, numeric smoothing preference, chart grid preference, and chart range preference.
Environment labels are text you choose to enter. The app does not determine your location from those labels or request location permission. Avoid including personal information in labels if you do not want it stored with measurements or included in exports.
Collection and purposes
The current app processes microphone input and stores the information described above to provide live monitoring, measurement recording, recovery of interrupted sessions, history, reports, comparisons, CSV exports, and saved preferences.
The inspected implementation does not send this information to the developer and does not include account registration, advertising, analytics, tracking, or remote crash-reporting services. It does not access contacts, precise location, or financial information.
Exports and sharing
When you choose to export a session, the app creates a CSV file through Android’s document picker. The file includes the session identifier, environment label, measurement timestamps, elapsed time, estimated sound levels, calibration offsets, and gap indicators.
You choose the export destination. If you select a cloud storage provider or later share the file, that provider or recipient receives the exported information under its own practices. Exported files exist separately from the app’s saved sessions.
The current implementation does not automatically share measurement data with advertisers or other third-party services. Its included Android, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin libraries support app operation; no advertising or analytics SDK was identified. Although the app declares Internet permission, no active network transmission was identified in the inspected application code.
Android backup
The app enables Android backup. Depending on your device, system settings, and backup service, locally stored app data may be included in system-managed backup or device transfer. These processes are controlled by Android and the applicable service provider rather than by an app-operated server.
Security
The app uses Android’s private app storage for saved measurements and preferences, and Android’s permission system controls microphone access. The inspected implementation does not add a separate app-level encryption layer to stored measurements. No app-operated data transmission was identified, so encryption in transit is not a feature used for uploading measurements to the developer. Backup services and export destinations apply their own protections. No storage or security measure guarantees complete protection.
Retention and deletion
Saved sessions and preferences remain in app storage until you delete them or clear the app’s data. No automatic expiration period is implemented. An interrupted draft may be recovered into saved history when the app next starts.
You can delete saved sessions from History using Delete and confirming the action. To remove all local app data, including preferences and drafts, use Android’s clear-storage controls. Uninstalling normally removes local app storage, but system-managed backups may remain or restore data according to your settings.
Deleting a session inside the app does not delete CSV exports or copies held in backup services or by recipients. Manage those copies through the relevant destination or service.
For deletion questions, contact mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com. The developer does not receive measurement records through the app and cannot remotely delete records stored on your device or in your chosen export destinations. If you email the developer, your email address and the information you include will be available to the recipient and email providers to handle your inquiry. A specific retention period for support correspondence has not been established in the supplied information.
Children’s privacy
The supplied information does not establish a target age group or a separate service for children. The current app does not include accounts, advertising, or developer-operated collection of measurement data. Microphone access, local storage, and user-selected exports work as described in this policy for all users. Questions about a child’s use of the app may be sent to the privacy contact below.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the app or its data practices. Review the policy made available with the app for the current description of those practices.
